WICKS Business Information Promotes Gentile to Publisher of Credit Union Times
Fairfield, Connecticut (November 20, 2006) – Credit Union Times, The Weekly Independent Report On Credit Unions, has promoted Paul Gentile to Publisher. In his new role, Gentile will assume full responsibility for every aspect of the publication, while grooming a long-term successor as Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper.
Gentile is a well-known figure in the credit union marketplace. He has served on the editorial team of Credit Union Times for 10 years and writes a popular, weekly column on the latest industry news.
Gentile’s vision for Credit Union Times is to diversify the product mix to better serve the credit union market. This includes an expanded industry awards program, conferences on issues important to credit union leaders, developing the Web channel to be more responsive to reader needs, and offering readers and advertisers more opportunities to interact.
To that end, Gentile is proud to announce the launch of Credit Union Times’ 2007 Leadership Awards. The awards program has been expanded and will honor individuals in the following categories: CEO of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Marketing Executive of the Year, and Information Technology Executive of the Year. In addition, two institutional awards will be given for Outstanding Political Action and Serving the Underserved.
Credit Union Times is also hosting its first-ever conference this December in Las Vegas on anti-money laundering regulations affecting credit unions. Gentile will chair this event, which boasts an all-star lineup of industry compliance experts.
“Credit Union Times enjoys a dominant position in the market because of its stellar editorial product and its ability to shape and anticipate the major issues affecting the industry. In Paul, we’ve found someone who marries unparalleled knowledge and passion for the industry, with a proven ability to innovate and build value for readers and subscribers,” says John Whelan, Vice President and Group Publisher at WICKS Business Information. “We look forward to a sustained and exciting period of growth in this important franchise.”
“Credit Union Times leads the market because of its first-rate editorial product. The editorial team has over 130 years of combined experience, and brings a level of knowledge no other credit union publication can match,” said Gentile. “Continuity of editorial excellence will continue to be my number 1 priority, but I will look to bring Credit Union Times into new areas to better meet the changing needs of this dynamic marketplace. We have many opportunities to introduce new products and services to better serve our readers and advertisers.”
