WICKS Business Information names John Whelan Vice President, Group Publisher

Fairfield, Connecticut, October 7, 2005 – WICKS Business Information, LLC (WBi) announced today that John Whelan has joined the company as Vice President, Group Publisher reporting directly to Doug Manoni, WBi CEO.

In this newly created position, Whelan will have responsibility for the publishing operations of all WBi magazine franchises. He will lead the development of each publication’s growth strategy and will also assist in the execution of WBi’s acquisition strategy.

Most recently Whelan worked as Publishing Director of the Investment Advisor Group at SourceMedia. Previous to this assignment he served as Publisher of Financial Planning magazine. He also spent several years in a business unit at Thomson Financial as Director of Electronic Media. Whelan graduated from Nottingham University in Nottingham, England, and also attended New College, Oxford University in England.
